NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested early Saturday morning after reportedly stabbing a man during an argument just north of downtown Nashville.
According to an affidavit, Cornell Jones was with his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend at an apartment in the 1000 block of Delta Avenue.
There was an argument over a picture that led to an altercation and ended with Cornell allegedly stabbing the woman’s boyfriend.
Cornell, 44, fled the scene while the victim left and found an officer down the street, according to the report.
The man had two stab wounds, according to an affidavit, one in the chest and one in the shoulder. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a punctured lung, police said. Further information on his condition wasn’t available.
Later, Cornell called police and reportedly admitted to stabbing a man. Officers found him near Arthur Avenue and Cheatham Place.
He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
Cornell’s bond was set at $50,000.
