Metro K-9s strut their stuff during public event

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) –The furriest members of the Metro Nashville Police Department showed off their skills to locals on Saturday, May 30.

The department’s K-9 unit is trained to assist their human counterparts in the field.

The showcase took place at the canine training field at the MNPD Training Academy on Tucker Road in Nashville.

People in attendance not only got to see the K-9 unit, but also had access to up-close looks at helicopters, a SWAT vehicle and bomb squad equipment.

Members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office were also offering free on-site child fingerprinting.
