NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 25-year-old man accused of critically injuring a 62-year-old man during what police say was a drug-related shooting has been indicted.
George Ivory is accused of shooting Cecil Grissette in the area of 16th Avenue North and Buchanan Street during the early morning hours of May 1 as Grissette was allegedly attempting to purchase drugs from another person.
Grissette suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head, torso and leg.
On Thursday, police said Ivory was indicted by a grand jury for being a felon in possession of ammunition.
If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison. He is also facing an attempted murder charge stemming from the shooting.
Ivory remains in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
