NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An endangered child alert for a 16-year-old Tennessee girl has been cancelled after authorities say she was found safe in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation initiated the alert around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after Briana Varela went missing from Jackson County, Tennessee.
Officials believed she was on her way to meet Nathan David Lane, a convicted sex offender recently paroled in Toledo, Ohio, who is also wanted on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor via telecommunications.
While the alert for Briana was cancelled, there is no word if Lane was arrested or remains at large.
Further details were not immediately released.
