MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – A special yard sale is being held this weekend for a very special boy in Mt. Juliet.
Jacob Will is 4 years old and has been battling a rare form of brain cancer.
He was diagnosed last July with an aggressive form of ATRT, or atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor.
Jacob underwent surgeries to remove a third of his brain as well as multiple rounds of chemotherapy, even spending some time on life support.
His grandfather told News 2 the precocious little boy is doing well now, and the cancer is gone.
“[The tumor] was approximately the size of a tennis ball. They had to go in and remove a third of his brain,” Michael Will said. “He suffered a stroke and survived then had nine months of chemo and was on life support for a while. He has received experimental drugs which have saved his life.”
The Will family is now trying to raise money through a yard sale for the bills and little Jacob’s continued medical care. They also hope to get Jacob a therapeutic bike and maybe a therapy dog.
The yard sale will be held both Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Parrish Hill off of Lebanon Road. Click here to learn more. You can also contact Reina Boughton, Jacob’s aunt, for more information at 615-689-2235.
You can also donate online at a GoFundMe page set up for Jacob.
