NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Titans quarterback competition is heating up on the grill.
This month, Gabby’s Burgers, one of Nashville’s most popular restaurants, is offering up the “Mettenberger” and the “Mariota burger” for customers.
“The Mettenberger, they can do any day we’re open. It’s on the secret menu. We’ve got it always,” said Doug Havron, the owner of Gabby’s Burgers.
“The Mariota burger is a special burger, so we’ll probably do it like two times a year,” Havron added.
The latter is in honor of the Titans second overall draft pick, and of course it has some Hawaiian flavors to it, making it a fan favorite so far.
“So it’s a regular burger, but then we marinate it in a sauce that’s got pineapple juice [for] Hawaii. He’s from Hawaii,” Havron said. “Pineapple juice, soy sauce, ginger and garlic.”
“Then we put bacon, pepperjack cheese on it, and, of course, grilled jalapenos if you like it a little zippy,” he explained, adding, “If you pick Mariota as your first round draft pick, you want it a little zippy.”
The Mettenberger, named after Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger, has a different taste to it, including peanut butter on the bun.
