GREENBRIER, Tenn. (WKRN) – An elderly man died Thursday in a tragic tractor accident in Greenbrier.

Smokey Barn News reports the accident happened near South Mt. Pleasant and Bethel roads.

The tractor was reportedly going up a small hill when 76-year-old Johnnie “Houston” Jones fell off and became trapped underneath a large rear wheel.

Millersville Police Chief David Hindman said there was mound hidden in the tall grass that snagged the tractor, throwing Jones off.

Russell Gupton, Assistant Director of Robertson County EMS, told Smokey Barn his wife was at the home waiting for him to finish when she heard a noise and went to check on him.

He did not live at the home where the accident occurred. He was using a Bush Hog on land owned by a friend.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be made. Further details weren’t immediately known.
