Bomb squad responds after blasting caps found in storage shed

Blasting caps found

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  (WKRN) – A bomb squad responded to a home on Old Hickory Boulevard Friday after a family found blasting caps.

The blasting caps were found while they were cleaning out their late grandfather’s storage shed.

The man once owned a telephone company 50 years ago, and neighbor Walter Jones told News 2 blasting caps would be used with an explosive device to blast tree stumps to make room for the poles.

Metro police said the caps were safety removed from the property and will eventfully be disposed.
