ESPN reporter at center of tirade visits Nashville to cover Mariota

Britt McHenry

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The ESPN reporter at the center of a video tirade that went viral last month is in Nashville to cover the Tennessee Titans new quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Britt McHenry politely declined an interview about the episode in which she berated a towing lot attendant. She later apologized for her actions.

She also was given a week-long suspension because of the incident.

The 28-year-old reporter also declined to talk about Mariota, the team’s second pick in the recent NFL draft, after checking with her bosses at ESPN.

“I hope you understand that I would just like to focus on my work here,” she told News 2 shortly after finishing a live report for the sports network.

McHenry did tell News 2 how much she is enjoying Nashville.
