Two convicted felons charged with robbery at Mapco Express

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two convicted felons have been charged in connection to Tuesday night’s robbery of a Mapco Express.

Metro police say the robbery occurred at 9 p.m. at the Mapco Express located at 611 51st Avenue North.

Kevin Auberry, 28, is accused of entering the store, threatening the clerk with a knife, and demanding money from the register.

Auberry took the money and fled the scene with 37-year-old Michael Loftis, who was driving a stolen Ford F150 pickup truck, according to police.

Officers found the truck wrecked in a ditch off Marilyn Road.  Both men were taken into custody and are charged with aggravated robbery.  Additionally, Loftis is charged with vehicle theft.

Metro police confirm that Loftis has a previous felony theft conviction and Auberry has multiple felony fraud convictions.
