CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Clarksville police released surveillance video from a local business that captured what they deemed a gang-related shooting.
Authorities also said they took one man into custody, Ojawaine Marbury, on unrelated charges but other charges are pending in connection to the incident.
Marbury was arrested Wednesday just before 6 p.m. while driving a GMC Yukon with bullet holes in the driver’s side.
The man was reportedly known to not have a valid driver’s license at the time of the stop and was charged with unlawful drug possession, operator license required, theft of property, and felony possession of cocaine, among others.
Police said all of the contraband, including a stolen 9mm pistol, was located in a hidden compartment within reach of the driver.
Charges are still pending against Marbury in connection the shooting on Preacher Mill Road that took place Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m.
Police were alerted to the shooting after receiving multiple calls from nearby residents. A gunshot victim later showed up to Gateway Medical Center but reportedly refused to cooperate.
A second gunshot victim was also taken to Gateway and later to Vanderbilt in Nashville about 30 minutes later.
Detectives are still working to piece together what happened but said they have been hampered by a lack of cooperation from those involved.
However, some information was development and led them to Marbury’s charges in the case.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the Peachers Mill incident is asked to call Detective Shrum at 615-648-0656, ext. 5391.
