ATLANTA, Ga. (WKRN) – Former first round pick from Vanderbilt University and Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Minor underwent surgery shoulder Wednesday.

According to a release, the left-handed pitcher needed surgery to repair his labrum.

The operation occurred at a Los Angeles, California hospital.

Minor, who has been sidelined since spring training, was placed on the disabled list April 5 due to inflammation in his left shoulder.

Minor is expected to miss the remainder of the 2015 season.

He is expected to pitch at the beginning of the 2016 spring season.
