NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A car crashed into a light pole in north Nashville early Thursday morning, causing 1,300 homes to lose power.
It happened near the intersection of Ninth Avenue North and Buchanan Street around 1 a.m.
Metro police told News 2 the driver, identified as 23-year-old Devonte Chadwick, fled from the scene of the crash. Officers were able to take him into custody a few blocks away.
No one was injured in the crash.
Chadwick was booked into the Metro jail and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. His bond was set at $10,000.
At one point, nearly 3,000 residents in the area were without power.
