Lawrenceburg man captured after being added to TBI’s ‘Most Wanted’ list

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Lawrenceburg man was captured shortly after he was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.

Steven Armstrong, 22, was taken into custody in Giles County Friday night. He was wanted for a rape charge.

According to the TBI, a citizen contacted them after seeing media broadcasts with information about Armstrong’s location.  He was captured a short time later.

Armstrong and three others are accused of assaulting a fellow inmate while incarcerated in the Lawrence County jail on Christmas Day in 2014.

The other suspects have been indicted and arrested.
