NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 62-year-old man was critically injured in what police believe was a drug-related shooting.
It happened in the 1800 block of 16th Avenue North, near Buchanan Street, around 12:30 a.m.
A witness reported to police that she and Cecil Grissette were planning to purchase drugs from an individual they knew when they were approached by a group of men who demanded they buy drugs from them.
Grissette and the suspected gunman were arguing before shots were fired.
Grissette was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds. He is expected to survive.
The gunman remains at large. He is described as a black man with dreadlocks and is around 5 feet, 10 inches tall.
He fled with scene in a blue 1990s model Oldsmobile Cutlass with a broken back window that’s covered in plastic.
