Man accused of robbing his pastor in north Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly robbing his pastor outside a north Nashville church in March.

Police reported Richard Bingham, 44, approached the pastor of Westwood Baptist Church, located at 2510 Albion Street, on March 24 as he was entering the church.

According to an affidavit, Bingham waited for the pastor on the steps, grabbed him and took his wallet out of his pocket.

The pastor was reportedly injured during the incident. He later identified Bingham as a long-time member of his congregation in a photo lineup.

Bingham was booked into the Metro jail and charged with robbery. His bond was set at $30,000.
