NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested early Thursday evening after he allegedly threatened another man and police with a machete.
It happened just before 5 p.m. at the McDonald’s on Nolensville Road in south Nashville.
A spokesperson with Metro police told News 2 it happened after two homeless got into an argument.
The 23-year-old suspect, identified as Joseph O’Connor, went to a car and retrieved a machete.
O’Connor is accused of threatening to use the machete on the other man before police arrived and took him into custody.
Authorities said the suspect is claiming self-defense.
An aggravated assault charge is pending.
