Car crashes into Smyrna home, catches fire

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – A car crashed into a home and caught fire in Rutherford County early Thursday morning.

It happened on Neal Avenue around 5:15 a.m.

Police told News 2 the driver was coming around a curve and ran off the road, striking a house.

The car caught on fire and scorched the outside of the residence.

Police told News 2 the driver possibly fell asleep before exiting the roadway.

No injuries were reported.

No additional information was immediately known.
