New bird rehab facility set to open at Radnor Lake

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Radnor Lake State Natural Area is set to open a new state of the art aviary on Saturday in Oak Hills.

The Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center will be home to injured birds of prey, which will include bald eagles, a red tail hawk, a vulture and more, according to a release.

The injured bird rehabilitation center will offer ranger-led tours starting at 1 p.m.

The birds are currently being trained and will soon participate in educational demonstrations every hour at the aviary.

A dedication will be held Friday afternoon for corporate and private donors and state and government officials.

The facility will open to the public on Saturday.
