NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne has been named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the league’s best goaltender as voted on by NHL general managers.
This is Rinne’s third time as a finalist, but has yet to win the award. He was a finalist in 2011 and 2012.
Rinne finished the season with 41 wins (tied for second in the league) and among the League leaders in save percentage (.923) and goals-against average (2.18).
Rinne also recorded two, six-game winning streaks and four shutouts over the course of the 2014-2015 season.
Montreal’s Carey Price and Minnesota’s Devan Dubnyk are the other two finalist for the award.
The winner will be announced at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas on June 24.
