RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a Rutherford County sheriff.
TBI officials told News 2 Wednesday agents are investigating Sheriff Robert Arnold.
The investigation began after the district attorney general made a request on Friday. No details were immediately released about the cause for the investigation.
News 2 reported last week that Arnold lists e-cigarettes sold to inmates in the Rutherford County jail as a source of income. The sheriff said he doesn’t believe it’s a conflict of interest, but is considering killing the program.
TBI officials have not said whether or not their investigation is related to the situation with the e-cigarettes.
