NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Metro Nashville Police Department is mourning the loss of retired K9 officer Roscoe.
According to the Department’s Facebook page, Roscoe, who was 11 years old, passed away Sunday due to medical issues that he had been battling recently.
He was at home with his partner, Officer Jerry Denton, and his family at the time of his death.
Roscoe joined the MNPD in 2004 and retired in 2013, according to the department’s post.
He protected Officer Denton and many others during his time as a K9 officer and is credited with apprehending many criminals.
