Teen killed after hitting semi head-on in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – An 18-year-old boy was killed Tuesday morning after hitting a semi head-on in Robertson County.

It happened just before 7:15 a.m. on State Highway 49 in Coopertown.

Dillon Stewart, 18, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant southbound when for unknown reasons he crossed the center line of the road.

Stewart’s car then hit a tractor trailer driven by 29-year-old Troy Ricks head-on.

The teen was killed in the crash. The semi driver was uninjured.

According to the crash report, no alcohol was found in Stewart’s system but it is not yet known if drugs were a factor.

No charges have been filed at this time.
