NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Monday was a busy travel day at Nashville International Airport after the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) annual convention ended Sunday.
The NRA said more a total of 78,865 people attended the gathering at the Music City Center over the weekend. Many of those visitors are scheduled to leave town Monday.
The airport recommended travelers arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight Monday morning to ensure they have enough time to get through security and to their gate.
Lines were long in the early hours of the morning and will probably increase during the morning commute time frame.
A cheerleading and dance competition was also held in Nashville over the weekend and some of the attendees will be leaving Monday as well, bringing more traffic to the airport.
