Custodian arrested for threat at Warren County H.S.

MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities arrested a custodian at Warren County High School in connection to a Thursday morning threat.

Marlene Madewell was taken into custody sometime Thursday afternoon and is charged with filing a false report.

The high school’s campus on Pinoeer Lane was evacuated due to the threat just before 11 a.m.

Authorities told News 2 Madewell she confessed to the threat and said she was upset with the school’s principal.

Madewell, a school employee since 2003, remains jailed on $30,000 bond. Additional charges are possible.

According to authorities, she does not have a prior arrest history.

The school was also evacuated for a few hours Wednesday due to another threat. Police said the two incidents are not related.

Just over 1,700 students attend Warren County High School, grades nine through 12.
