NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Brady Puckett shutdown the Vanderbilt offense for seven innings and the Lipscomb Bisons upset the second ranked Commodores 3-1 Tuesday night at Hawkins Field.
Former Commodore Josh Lee (2011) drove in the game’s first run with a sacrifice fly to center field. Lee struck again with a two-out, run-scoring triple in the sixth and capped his big return to Hawkins Field with a RBI-single in the eighth to drive in all three runs for the Bisons.
That was plenty for Puckett who allowed only four hits over seven innings and allowed only one runner to reach third base for his second win of the season.
Nick Andros closed it out for the Bisons striking out Nolan Rogers to end the game and earn the save. The Bisons improve to 19-11 with the victory.
