Kris Kristofferson honored by musicians, songwriters in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Musicians and songwriters gathered Tuesday night in Nashville to honor Country Music Hall of Famer Kris Kristofferson.

Country megastars Lady Antebellum, acclaimed singer-songwriter Jason Isbell, Grammy nominee Brandy Clark and Raul Malo from the Grammy Award-winning group The Mavericks were on hand to sing Kristofferson’s songs along with some of their own.

Kristofferson sang “Help Me Make it Through the Night” and “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” among others.

The Lady Antebellum trio say they jumped at the chance to play with Kristofferson.

“To be able to stand on stage and watch Kris Kristofferson sing his songs, to be able to sing harmonies on his songs and sing some of the verses of his songs, I think it’s a bucket list night for us,” said Lady A’s Hillary Scott.
