MANCHESTER, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Chicago family had a heart-warming reunion with the first responders who helped them after a bad crash on Interstate 24 last year.

According to the Manchester Police Department’s Facebook page, the Fonseca family met with Officers Daniel Ray, Trey Adcock and Captain Nilesh Patel on March 26.

Adcock and Patel helped the family after they crashed while on their way to Florida for a family vacation. It was Mother’s Day 2014.

Andy Fonseca reportedly had skull fractures and bleeding on his brain and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, police said.

Fast forward to 2015 and the Fonsecas are doing well and Officer Ray kept in touch with them after the crash.

The Fonsecas drove down from Chicago at the end of March to meet with the three men who helped them when they needed it most and say thank you.
