NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police apprehended a man Thursday who was wanted in connection to a shooting that happened in July 2014.
Police reported Kevon Swinger, 20, was wanted on felony weapon charges after he allegedly shot into a vehicle near the 2300 block of 25th Avenue North on July 26.
Swinger reportedly shot at a car containing a father and his 10-year-old daughter.
Metro flex officers spotted Swinger Thursday near McKinney Avenue and he fled from them on foot.
A short time later, officers stopped a van that was driving slowly in the area.
Swinger’s sister Kevonda Swinger, 18, and his cousin, Chiquita Jones, 26, were inside the van and told police they had not seen Swinger for several weeks.
While inspecting the van, Swinger was discovered hiding in the rear of the vehicle.
Swinger also faces drug charges after police found marijuana, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia and a stolen handgun inside a car he was seen fleeing from on Sunday.
Swinger was booked in the Metro jail with a bond of $217,500.
His sister and cousin are charged with accessory after the fact for attempting to help Swinger flee the area. Their bonds are set at $10,000 each.
