MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – Three women were arrested Thursday afternoon after they allegedly shoplifted more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from Providence Marketplace.
Officials with the Mt. Juliet Police Department said Dereka Conway, 19, Rickeita Butler, 23, and Terra Braden, 18, ran out of JCPenney with childrens’ clothing valued at $2,218 concealed under their clothing.
The women were apprehended by an undercover Mt. Juliet Crime Suppression Unit officer as they attempted to run out of the store.
Store security became suspicious of the women and began monitoring their movements before alerting Mt. Juliet police around 2:45 p.m.
Investigators found an additional $1,300 worth of reportedly stolen merchandise from Claire’s, Old Navy and Children’s Place inside their vehicle.
The three women, all from Nashville, were booked in the Wilson County jail and charged with theft of merchandise. Conway’s bond was set at $8,500, Butler’s at $7,500 and Braden’s at $7,000.
They are due to appear in court June 25.
