AKRON, OH. (WKRN) An Ohio woman is behind bars after police said she stabbed her boyfriend during an argument over a snack on Sunday.
Akron police responded to a stabbing call in the 100 block of Lake Street around 4 p.m.
The 61-year-old victim told officers he was eating chips and salsa with his girlfriend, Phyllis D. Jefferson, 50, when an argument broke out over who was eating all the salsa.
Jefferson reportedly stabbed the victim in the pelvis area with a pen. Then she walked over to the television to knock it onto the floor.
As the victim went to stop the television from falling, Jefferson allegedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the stomach.
Police were called to the home and Jefferson fled the scene before they arrived.
Jefferson was later stopped on Interstate 77 just south of Route 224.
She was taken into custody and charged with felonious assault and criminal damaging.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
