Decommissioned Metro officer resigns after DUI arrest

Chase Beck

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A decommissioned police officer who was arrested for DUI early Thursday morning has resigned.

Officer Chase Beck submitted his termination Friday.

Beck, 27, was arrested after an officer reportedly saw him cross the double lines before making an illegal U-turn on Harding Place near Danby Drive around 4:15 a.m.

After initiating a stop with Beck, the arresting officer noticed that the 27-year-old smelled of alcohol and that his eyes were bloodshot.

He was taken into custody after performing poorly on a field sobriety test.

Authorities booked him into the Metro jail and he has since been released.

Beck graduated from the police academy in June 2014.
