NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested early Saturday morning for shooting a woman in the face Thursday in Madison.
A woman Ward had been staying with reportedly told detectives Friday he admitted to shooting Carter.
The woman claimed Ward said he wanted to shoot Carter two more additional times but someone came out of a nearby home so he fled the scene.
The bullet went through her cheek and into her neck.
Carter, 33, was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where officials say she is in stable but critical condition.
Ward has previous felony Schedule VI drug convictions in Sumner County.
Investigators believe the shooting may have been drug related.
Ward was booked in the Metro jail and charged with attempted criminal homicide. He is being held in lieu of $350,000.
