KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A family who used to live in Knoxville is at the center of a tragic police standoff that took place Thursday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
ABC affiliated WATE-TV reports Bryon Creech is accused of shooting and killing his own son during the 17-hour ordeal.
Officers said they were called to the home due a violation of a protective order.
Authorities arrived at the home Thursday afternoon but the standoff didn’t end until Friday morning.
Creech ultimately surrendered but only after he shot and killed his son Braydon, police reported.
Tulsa police told WATE-TV the boy’s mother said the family moved from Knoxville to Tulsa. She filed a protective order against Creech in July 2014 and filed for divorce the very next day.
The couple was supposed to return to court this July.
