7th Avenue North in downtown Nashville reopens after suspicious bag found

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Part of Seventh Avenue North in downtown Nashville was blocked while officials investigated a suspicious package Thursday night.

Authorities told News 2 it appeared to be a duffle bag left behind a dumpster near Hume-Fogg Academic High School.

The Metro Nashville Police Department’s Hazardous Devices Unit were called to the scene.

The package was determined not to be hazardous and the road reopened later in the evening.
