NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – On Tuesday night, News 2 reported on a vandalized billboard along Interstate 65 in north Nashville.
The sign is an advertisement for an adult gift and novelty business. It reads, “Need Toys?”
Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning someone spray painted profanity on the billboard. A concerned citizen saw the vulgar graffiti and contacted News 2 on Tuesday. The vandal had spray painted “F*** Toys!”
The company that operates the billboard had the sign taken down Wednesday.
Angela Mueller is the marketing director for Surprise Parties, a division of Surprise Products, LLC, the Lebanon company that purchased the advertisement.
“It kind of hit me in the heart a little bit because it felt like a very personal attack,” said Mueller.
Mueller told News 2 the sign was the company’s only billboard in Nashville. She wonders if it was just a prank or something more personal.
“I felt targeted. It was very hateful,” she explained.
The company has been in operation since 1988. Mueller said the company will likely advertise again, just probably not in the same spot.
The billboard had only been up for a couple of months.
