NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A charter school in east Nashville was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a possible gas leak.
The children at Liberty Collegiate Academy on Hart Lane were taken to the field behind the building as a precaution after a car hit a nearby gas meter.
No one was injured in the crash and the cause remains unknown.
Officials with Piedmont Natural Gas told the school the air levels are safe for the kids to go back inside.
Crews are working to get the gas meter back to operational status.
Further details were not immediately known.
