FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – Franklin police arrested a convicted felon after receiving a tip that he may be planning a shooting.
Adrikias Baugh, 35, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon when officers spotted him in the 600 block of Cherokee Place.
When they approached Baugh, he reportedly pulled a handgun from his pocket and put it in a vehicle through an open car window.
Baugh is now being held in the Williamson County Jail on a charge of being a felon in possession of a weapon.
“The FPD’s Flex Team had this felon in custody and a gun off of our streets very shortly after this tip came in. Their immediate reaction to this citizen tip undoubtedly prevented a shooting,” said
Chief Deborah Faulkner.
Baugh has a lengthy and violent criminal history, including a probation violation in Maury County.
He’s scheduled for a court hearing on March 24.
