NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The motorcyclist killed Sunday evening on Interstate 24 West in Nashville has been identified as a Fort Campbell soldier.

Officials said Charles Pusateri, originally from Bel Air, Maryland, died around 6 p.m. while returning to the base.

According to a witness, the 24-year-old soldier was travelling extremely fast when he attempted a lane change and struck the back of Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Pusateri lost control of his 2006 Honda motorcycle and hit a guardrail. He died at the scene.

Army officials notified his family Monday.

The pickup truck received minor damage, as did a Ford SUV struck by debris from the motorcycle.

Further details were not immediately released.
