NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman was injured when she was shot by her boyfriend Thursday night in north Nashville.
It happened on Chesapeake Drive off Brick Church Pike around 10:45 p.m.
Police were alerted to the shooting when a 12-year-old from inside the home called 911.
According to police, Reggie McClain, 30, shot his girlfriend then drove her to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where detectives took him into custody.
The bullet passed through the victim’s hand and struck her in the thigh.
Police told News 2 the couple were in an “on-again, off-again” relationship and McClain had gone to the residence to talk to the victim.
Her injuries are considered serious.
McClain was booked in the Metro jail on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon and attempted criminal homicide. His bond was set at $105,000.
