NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man’s skeletal remains found at a homeless camp earlier this month has been identified.
Randall White, who was also known as Cowboy, was found dead March 4 at the campsite near 500 Cowan Street. Police said the 53-year-old man lived at the site.
Police said White’s remains and a portion of the campsite sustained damage by what appeared to have been a large fire, though the source has not been determined.
According to an acquaintance, White had accumulated various aerosol cans at the site and was known to start a fire at night in a makeshift oven near his bed.
It is unclear whether that played a role in his death.
Police said White was frequently seen wearing camouflage clothing and pushing a shopping cart in the area of North First and Cowan streets.
Foul play is not suspected in his death.
Anyone with information on his death of the fire at the campsite is urged to call police 615-74-CRIME.
