NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A pothole is believed to have played a role in a fatal motorcycle crash that killed an Ashland City man and seriously injured another on Briley Parkway Sunday evening.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. at the Centennial Boulevard exit.
Police said John LaSalle, 55, was traveling north on Briley when his 2013 Honda motorcycle struck a pothole and veered to the right before sideswiping a Honda Accord.
LaSalle was ejected from the motorcycle and is believed to have struck a guardrail. He died at the scene.
Phillip Myatt, 53, was riding his Harley Davidson behind LaSalle when the accident occurred.
Myatt said he had to lay his motorcycle down to avoid a collision, causing him serious injuries.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
No one was injured in the Accord.
There was no indication of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
