NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A driver was only left with minor injuries after she reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a south Nashville creek.
It happened early Sunday morning around 4 a.m. on Glenrose Ave.
Stella Rice told News 2 she heard a loud crash outside her apartment and went outside to find a car in the creek.
Rice assisted the driver who reportedly told her she fell asleep after working third shift somewhere.
“It was like, really, really scary,” she told News 2. “My first instinct was to jump down there and make sure she was okay. I told her the car can be replaced but her life can’t.”
Rice said she stayed with the driver and called her family while her roommate called 911.
The driver, an unidentified female, suffered a cut to her hand and lacerations on her neck.
