NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A police officer was injured when his patrol car was struck by a drunk driver Saturday night.
The officer was blocking a lane of traffic on Interstate 65 South after cars were damaged by a pothole that opened up after this week’s winter weather.
It happened near the Dickerson Pike exit around 10:15 p.m.
The officer was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. The driver’s identity has not been released.
TDOT reported the lane is expected to be cleared by 6 p.m.
