NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was shot and killed in a parking garage on the campus of Vanderbilt University Saturday night in what police believe was a drug dispute.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Wesley Place garage on Scarritt Place near 21st Avenue South.
Metro police said an altercation between two men possibly involved in a drug dispute escalated to gunfire.
Joeuan Booker, 31, was found shot to death when they arrived to the scene.
The other gunman has yet to be identified. He reportedly fled the area on foot, away from campus.
Following the shooting, detectives were trying to located a tan 2006 Ford F-150. The owner came forward after hearing reports the vehicle was sought by authorities.
The other gunman and suspect in the shooting was reportedly a passenger in the truck at the parking garage. His “true identity” has yet to be confirmed.
