NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fire destroyed a family’s home on Old Hickory Boulevard in western Davidson County Friday morning.
It began around 7 a.m. at the residence located at 5188 Old Hickory Blvd. north of Ashland City Highway.
Brenda Butka and her husband lived in the home. She told News 2 he purchased the home in the 1970s and they got married on the front porch in 1983.
Butka said her two daughters were scheduled to be married on the porch in June.
Butka told News 2 everything was fine when she left for work Friday morning. She learned her home was on fire as she arrived to her job at Vanderbilt.
Butka’s husband was alone in the home at the time. He was able to escape without injury but without his shoes or a coat.
The cause of the fire is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
