NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman faces charges after police say she stole money that was pinned to her grandmother’s nightgown while she was sleeping.

The victim called police on the morning of Dec. 12, 2014 and stated that she was woken by her granddaughter, Jasmine Smythia, tugging on her gown.

The woman, who said she is in the habit of pinning any cash she has to the inside of her clothing, quickly realized her nightgown had been cut open and the $560 she had pinned to her was missing.

Smythia, 18, who does not live at the apartment, fled the scene before police arrived.

She is charged with aggravated burglary.
