NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man is in custody following an incident at a downtown Nashville bank Wednesday morning.
Police said the man, whose identity has not been released, entered the Bank of America on Union Street and began acting irrational and making non-threatening demands.
Bank employees immediately called police.
Police said the man was displaying possible signs of mental illness with both his comments and actions.
The man will undergo a mental health evaluation.
“We want him to leave here as healthy as possible and make sure he does not hurt himself or others,” Jason Reinbold with Metro police said.
Charges will not be filed. No customers were inside the bank at the time.
