WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A former Millersville pet shop is in the news again for all the wrong reasons.
Months ago, Gone Wild Exotics was investigated for alleged animal cruelty when the business shut down and animals were left behind.
This time, the empty store was used by thieves to break through a wall into the neighboring business, White House Deli.
It happened sometime last Tuesday night when thieves used an unlocked rear door to the pet shop to gain access.
Millersville police told News 2 the suspects then used a hammer to break through the wall and gain access to the deli.
They had the store to themselves and ultimately stole beer, lottery tickets, $1,000 in cash, and $6,000 in cigarettes.
The thieves were also smart enough to take receiver that controls the video surveillance.
News 2 spoke to the store’s owner who said coming in to work to find the hole in the wall was frightening.
“So bad. So very bad. And I’m scared and I’m worried about stuff in the future, said Nene Moner.
Millersville police are hoping the public may have information on the crime or come across the cigarettes stolen from the business. You can contact them at 615-859-2758.
