NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Mike Ribeiro’s third period goal gave the Nashville Predators the 3-2 win over the visiting New York Rangers Saturday afternoon. The goal was Ribeiro’s 700th NHL point.
After a scoreless first period, Rick Nash gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the second with a power play goal he scored off a rebound of his own shot.
Nashville defenseman Roman Josi tied the game 1-1 later in the period on a slap shot past New York goaltender Cam Talbot. Captain Shea Weber gave the Preds the 2-1 lead with just 39.1 seconds left in the second.
New York Defenseman Ryan McDonagh tied the game at 2-2 at 1:37 of the third period on a wrist shot past Rinne on the far side. Nashville (34-12-6) is 21-3-1 at home.
New York (30-16-4) lost for the first time in three games and is 11-5-0 in its past 16.
Rinne made 30 saves to get his league-leading 30th win.
The Predators have a quick turnaround. They travel to Florida to face the Panthers at 2 p.m.
